The Pain of my First Love

He was the thing I loved the most, but the thing that also broke me. When we met, I was instantly swept away. His eyes penetrated my heart and I was memorized by their dazzling green color. He brought out feelings in me that I never knew existed.

He was fearless when he approached me. In fact, he confidently brushed up against me multiple times and left me wanting more with each encounter. We quickly began to spend a lot of time together. After school we would sit on the porch and cuddle together. He would put his head in my lap as I sat there in pure bliss. He was all mine and I was unconditionally his.

But then my body broke. Each time we were together, my body would shatter in pain and feel horrible. He would touch me and my body would automatically reject him. He tried so hard to make things better, but the damage was done. My body could not handle the pain that he brought. My eyes would swell up each time we were together and I would have to run to the bathroom with barely enough time to regain my composure before I completely fell apart. Our days were over....

Until I took Zyrtec! My dad, a doctor, recommended that I take Zyrtec to stop my cat allergies. Sure enough, it worked! At last, Charles, my first cat, and I were reunited.  We could cuddle all we wanted without me breaking out in hives. He could sit on my lap for hours without making me sneeze. Our love was unbreakable despite its pain.

  1. Hi Olivia,

This post reminded me of my friend who was also allergic to cats but also love cats. Whenever we found a cute cat on the street, she would cover her mouth and nose with clothes, and still pet the cat though I tried really hard to stop her each time.

    Your cats look super adorable!

  4. Haha this was such a sweet post. The picture gave away the fact that you were talking about a cat which was hidden in the beginning. Even so it was super cute!

  5. Hahaha this is hilarious but sad at the same time. That's quite a sense of humor you got there.

It almost seemed like a Zyrtec commercial and I was completely convinced for a second that I also needed some Zyrtec. I'm glad you can cuddle with your cats now!

  9. Lol I'm glad I read this. My sister finally convinced my dad to let her get a cat a couple years ago, even though he's allergic. Nowadays when she brings the cat home, he can't wait for Finn to jump up onto the couch and sit on his lap. Crazy what Zyrtec can do!
